AIM (Convincing Evidences)

The ministry school will be in session starting in January of the new year. The first course to be taught is Apologetics, and will run from January 19th through March 16th. We will teach through WebEx (online), but for North River the live viewing station will still be on the North River campus. We expect to be joined online by disciples from all over North America as well as Europe.

Who may join? Anyone. The course is open to all. Register by 12 January 2013.

Why Evidences? In a non-Christian world, where disinformation is rampant and faith is challenged, apologetics is essential. If we are to reach the majority of the world’s population, for whom a “study series” will not work without a relational and evidential foundation, we must adapt our evangelistic strategy (and change our thinking).
This course covers such areas as the existence of God, the reliability of the Bible, the identity of Jesus Christ, Bible difficulties, essential attitudes in the apologist, and much more. Learn how to construct convincing evidences presentations for groups and individuals as you incorporate apologetics into your personal ministry.
Vital for campus ministry and teen ministry, and of course for reaching unchurched people, atheists, skeptics, and members of other faiths. Credit: 1 class hour.

Course objective: Exposure to the major areas of Christian apologetics, with mastery of basic evidences arguments, to equip the student to defend his faith and make a strong case for Christianity.

Resources: Text (Compelling); another popular apologetics work; recommended books, audio, and websites; and selected scriptures.

Who are the teachers? Douglas Jacoby, Joey Harris, and Tom Jones (the usual teachers), as well as one guest teacher.

When will the classes take place? Classes are at 10:00am and 11:00am Eastern Time, on the following 6 Saturdays: Jan 19th / Feb 2nd, 9th, 23rd / March 2nd, 16th

Is there a cost? The entire course is $30 to audit, $150 for AIM credit. If you would also like university credit through Lincoln Christian University, this can be arranged for an extra $50.

Doug Jacoby Interview with Fred Gray Please listen to Doug Jacoby’s 8-minute interview with Fred Gray, Director of the Tuskegee Human Rights Multicultural Center. He was the lawyer for Rosa Parks, and also represented Martin Luther King Jr. I was able to meet Dr. Gray through the uniquitous Jack Frederick. Michael Brouder and I drove to Tuskegee to film the interview. He speaks not only about his experience in the Civil Rights Movement, but also about Christianity, including the centrality of repentance and baptism. This video is below!
